Mouthcard is a small unincorporated community in Pike County, Kentucky, United States. It is situated in the eastern region of the state and is part of the Appalachian Mountains. The population of Mouthcard is around 200 people. It is located near the Buchanan State Forest, which covers over 14,000 acres. The town has a post office, church, and a few small businesses including a country store and gas station. Mouthcard was named after the mouth of the card (sawmill) as the W.W. Johnson Lumber Company used the location as a milling site for its timber harvests. Today, the area is known for outdoor recreation opportunities including hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and ATV riding.
